Teresita Alicbusan is a Filipino
artist hailing from the beautiful and historically-rich province
of Laguna , Philippines . She received her Degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts and Design
from the Philippine Women’s University in 1993. Her first full time graphic
design job may have started in 1993 but even before graduating in college, she
has already had extensive experiences working part-time for a number of art
studios in Manila.
Aside from working
while studying, she also participated in a number of art exhibits proving just
how passionate and dedicated she is to her craft. While other classmates are
struggling with finishing up school works or projects, Teresita is already out
there in the local art scene mingling with well-known artists, being invited to
well-esteemed art shows, participating in art competitions, and getting herself
known through her works.
In 1991, Some of her achievements and participation in exhibits include: 3rd
Place Winner in Figure Painting - PWU Art Gallery, Philippines, Best in
Painting Summer Group Exhibit – PWU Art Gallery, Philippines, SCUD sa Fine Arts

Artist Reflexion – City Gallery, Philippines, Southern Wind – National Museum,
Manila Phils., then Alay sa Katutubo – CCP Complex, Manila Phils.
In 1992, She joined the following art
shows: KUNDALINI – Bulwagang Helene Benitez Art Gallery Manila Phils.,
Artist of the Month - Casa Blanca Gallery, Manila Phils., Artist Reflexion
– Manuella Galleria, Phils., Artist of the Month (2nd time) Casa Blanca
Gallery, Intramuros Manila, Ballet Philippines Dance Sketches – Westin
Philippine Plaza Lobby Hotel, National Student Art Competition Exhibit – SM
Megamall Art Gallery, and lastly, Ballet Philippines Dance Sketches 2 –
CCP Complex / Ayala Museum.
A few years later, Teresita got
married and became a mother of two beautiful children. She focused on being a
homemaker, nevertheless, she make it a point to still let her presence be felt
in the art world. She took part in Form to Colour 2 – KENT Gallery in
1995; Beauty Begins in Our Hearts 1 - Manila Midtown Hotel, and Beauty
Begins in Our Hearts 2 – Angono Gym, Wack-wack Golf & Country Club,
both in 2001; and Beauty Begins in Our Hearts 3 – Edsa Shangrila Hotel in
2002.
She and her husband
eventually decided to live their separate lives. So in May 2004, Teresita was
convinced it was time for a change of scenery. She travelled to Riyadh , Saudi Arabia ;
UAE Dubai, and then journeyed to what she now considers to be her second home, Singapore .
From that point up
to present, these are some of the competitions and exhibits she has
participated in after a long hiatus:
1st Place – Customized Design – Gulf Motorbike Design (Bee Design) Dubai UAE in 2010;
1St Place – Customized Design – Gulf Motorbike Design (Bee Design) Dubai UAE in 2011;
3rd place winner in Shoe Design Art Competition at Hougang Mall Singapore,
Special Award Art competition (Coloures of the Bible Singapore), and
Merit Award SG50 Art Contest (ARPC Singapore), both in 2015.

Teresita is now still residing inSingapore – as enthusiastic as ever to take part in a lot more events just painting, making art, and fulfilling her lifelong dreams.
